What's the big deal? We are animals. When we die we leave corpses. Our hides can be made useful as leather. Cool. It's good to be useful. Less fertilizer for the lilac bush, but--oh well...

I wonder how one would go about donating one's skin to be used to bind books after one's death.

Now, part of my skin is already dedicated to a friend's drum set, but there should be enough left over for a couple of special editions of the King In Yellow or some such... :)

I'm not quite sure how to respond to this, on one hand the references to books from the 1800's where it's an individuals commitment to a book that they have written or strongly believe in I can understand and accept... on the other hand, being somewhat of a history buff, my first thought was what the Nazi's did to Jews (at least some of them) so my initial reaction was negative... seems like something that should be very personal in nature and not something for "mass production"...
