Ugh.
Six months ago today I was a refugee at the home of John Tynes and Scott Glancy. I was on the train before it started. By the time I got to Seattle, the downtown core was being evacuated. A police officer with a machine gun stood at the entrance to the Bank of America Building; he told me to go home. This was clearly impossible: the trains weren't running and the busses on I-5 weren't moving.
The ten-minute bus trip from Downtown to the U-District took more than an hour. As I walked into the house, Scott handed me a bottle of Foster's. "You're going to need this," he told me. Only then did I see the video for the first time. It was maybe ten o'clock.
They fed me rice and beans. John loaned me a copy of Jan Svenkmyer's Faust. I've still got it.
