I'm hoping repercussions. In four years, the war will still be raging. We may have a new war. The dollar will be worth a fraction of it's current value. The debt and deficit, and the corresponding falling dollar combined with our reliance on imports (especially oil) will have the economy in a full tailspin. The brain drain will have robbed us of our position as a premier technological leader. In short, Osama will have succeeded. Well good I say. We can't be trusted with this much power. We're no longer a nation fit to wield it.
