Today is the sixth of June. All 6•6•06 silliness aside, I firmly believe that two centuries or so from now, our descendants will celebrate this day as the Feast of the Servant of God, Robert Kennedy.
But suppose God is black? What if we go to Heaven and we, all our lives, have treated the Negro as an inferior, and God is there, and we look up and He is not white? What then is our response?
A wise man, and a prophet.
I believe that, as long as there is plenty, poverty is evil.
A man who called us to be more than we are.
Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.
A man with a wicked sense of humour.
People say I am ruthless. I am not ruthless. And if I find the man who is calling me ruthless, I shall destroy him.
Francine is flying to Norfolk Virginia this morning. Her father is in hospital, and there is sufficient family drama between her parents and her mentally ill sister that her presence is required. She'll be gone a week, and already I miss her.

Meanwhile, I'm attempting to purchase a house using no actual cash and only my feeble credit and (somewhat tarnished) name. So no stress there.

I had intended, as you know dear reader, to post my thoughts on Into Great Silence and What Happened After. But once again, I'm finding it difficult to keep up.

My very best to Francine! I hope her father will recover and that she'll survive all the family drama aside. I empathize all too well.

The showing we went to was sold out. We got there about 40 minutes early and were roughly in the middle of the line by the time they opened the doors.

It was truly an amazing experience. Another amazing experience was to walk out of the theater and up the street. I had never really noticed the sheer amount of visual noise in the city before, at least not in the way I experienced it following the film.

Enjoy!

Considering my post of yesterday this post of yours made me smile deeply.

A friend pointed out that his middle name was Francis, after St Francis of Assisi of course.

I have tried somewhat to be an informal Advocate For The Cause Of St Robert of Hyannis Port simply because I genuinely believe the man's life spoke far more than a great deal of alleged Saints of th Church. Our current conception of what a saint must be is riddled with unrealistic notions of what those dead people actually were in life - often imperfect.

In times of struggle, when I need an example of courage and determination and yet gentleness, I continue to pray to RFK.

If Opus Dei's centralo theme is that any and all of us can achieve sainthood in this life then by default that means that countless saints have lived and died in total obscurity.

I pray that things will settle for you and God will grant you clarty and peace in your current difficulties. It all passes off well in the end...you know that.
